How to Bleach you jeans fabulous

1. Experiment first. Learn how to use bleach on old jean fabric of various colors.
   
   
   • Try different applications. Use a sponge to dab, an old toothbrush to splatter, a child's paintbrush to paint or a spray bottle.
   • Learn of different dilutions. Try full strength, three-quarter strength, half strength or quarter strength. If you measure, you'll be able to gauge the effect you want.
   • Learn timing. The longer you let the bleach sit before rinsing, the whiter the stain will become.
2. Work outside. There's less mess and fumes are dispersed more quickly. Wear rubber gloves and an apron.
3. Stuff your jeans. If you do not want bleach on the opposite side of your pants, stuff your jeans with newspaper.
4. Flatten your jeans. Spread your jeans over the grass or hang them from the clothesline like an artist's easel.
5. Dilute bleach with water only. Use a plastic bucket with a spout to pour the bleach water into a spray bottle.
6. Use another bucket to rinse. Have a full bucket of clean water available for rinsing. Change the water frequently, if needed.
7. Bleach a little at a time. Have fun! Dab, splatter, paint and spray.
8. Rinse within five minutes. Have your technique down, because it's a rapid process.
9. Machine wash jeans. You can throw in a few light-colored towels, if they need to be refreshed by a little bleach. Fill half the washing machine with water, for adequate dilution, before adding your jeans and towels. Place your jeans at the bottom of the washing machine with the towels on top.
10. Discard the bleach water. Bleach is biodegradable. Reuse it in the bathroom for cleaning.
